Gillian Harrison Cain
Gillian Harrison Cain is the Director of Member Programs at Atla. Gillian and her team focus on the Atla member experience, including administration of member programs and projects, organization and implementation of professional development and engagement offerings, oversight of the association management system (AMS), and hosting Atla Annual and other events. She has extensive experience creating virtual and in-person educational events and managing communications with members and partners. In her current and previous roles, she has been responsible for conducting market research, creating content for effective communications, licensing resources for a library consortium, managing customer relationship management and content management software projects, grant writing and management, and project management. Her previous positions include Senior Marketing Manager at Serials Solutions, a ProQuest business, Director of Marketing and Program Development at BCR (Bibliographical Center for Research), and Global Product Manager for NetLibrary at OCLC. She worked as a Reference Librarian at the Denver Public Library and in circulation and cataloging at Douglas County Libraries, was a classifier at IHS, held positions with various software companies. Gillian holds a BS in Engineering with a Civil specialty from the Colorado School of Mines and received her Masters of Library and Information Services (MLIS) with an Information Networks concentration from the University of Denver. In 2021, she completed a Managing Product Design and Development certificate from Northwestern University and earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential.
