Assistant Director of Library and Information Services
Brewton-Parker College currently is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Library and Information Services to start August 1st, 2022, or earlier during the summer if available. Salary will be determined commensurate with academic credentials, experience, and other factors.
The College:
Brewton-Parker College, tracing its origin to 1904, is a four-year, coeducational Christian comprehensive college accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, offering twenty-four areas of undergraduate study to a diverse population of about 800 students in the micropolitan setting of Mount Vernon/Vidalia in the South-Central region of Georgia. As a Georgia Baptist institution, Brewton-Parker affirms the supremacy of Christ and expects members of the faculty and administration to model Christian values before the students, in their professional activities, and in their lives.
Responsibilities:
To begin August 1st, 2022, or earlier during the summer if available, the Assistant Director will work under the immediate supervision of the Director and provide administrative assistance in supervising both federal and institutional work-study students, in overseeing all aspects of circulation and interlibrary loan, and in providing oversight for other aspects of library operations as needed.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must hold at least a master's degree in library and information science or some allied discipline in a program accredited for professional librarians by the American Library Association (ALA). Candidates also should have at least 1-2 years of recent work experience at a library in the environment of higher education or in some similar work setting, public or private. The Assistant Director also must demonstrate a proven record of strong data entry and management capabilities and possess a general knowledge of best practices in higher or secondary education.
