Student Engagement Librarian
The Morgan Library-Learning Center at Grace College and Seminary seeks an energetic, creative Student Engagement Librarian to work alongside a team of dedicated academic support professionals. This individual is expected to provide oversight for connecting Grace students with library-learning center spaces, resources, and services through instruction and creative programming and by strengthening partnerships with campus and other stakeholders. This individual will be provided the opportunity to develop his or her professional skills in an innovative and collaborative environment. As the coordinator of instruction and outreach, this librarian will be involved with the research and learning support of residential and distance undergraduate and graduate students.
Collaborative opportunities extend to the Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI) consortium. Additional duties will be assigned based on both the librarian’s skills/gifting and the practical and missional needs of the library. All librarians participate in reference and consultation services, assessment, special projects, campus committees, and team-based decision-making. Expectations include a willingness to continue his or her professional development to meet the twenty-first-century research needs of college students and faculty members.
- Master of Library Science degree (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to plan, manage, and oversee multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize work.
- Knowledge of current trends in Information Literacy Instruction, including best practices.
- Experience in an academic library.
- Familiarity with course design.
