Individual membership is open to any person who is engaged in professional library or scholarly communications work in theological or religious fields or who has a demonstrated, bona fide interest in the literature of religion, theological librarianship, or the purposes and work of the Association.
Student membership is open to any student enrolled in a degree program who is carrying a half-time course load or greater.
In the 2018 election, ATLA members passed a ballot initiative to amend the ATLA Bylaws to replace the Lifetime membership class with two new membership classes, Retired and Emeritus. The two new membership classes are designed to enable retired members to choose their desired level of involvement with ATLA. For both, ten years of prior consecutive Individual membership in ATLA is required.
Membership does not include subscriptions or access to ATLASerials® (ATLAS®) or any other ATLA subscription products. For information on ATLA products, see the ATLA Product Center.
